To All Who Share Concern Over the Proposed Sulfur Processing Plant

Last night an informal group composed of Portsmouth civic league officers entertained an internal discussion of the proposed sulfur processing plant at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal.  The concerns which were shared include, but were not limited to, perceived lack of transparency regarding the project, environmental concerns, potential decrease in property values, and most importantly, the possible danger to the health and welfare of our citizens and surrounding communities.

On Tuesday, January 17, the Portsmouth City Council will be holding a Community Meeting at I.C. Norcom High School at 7pm.

We urge you to reach out to your civic league members, churches, businesses, friends, families, and all else who are share these same concerns over the proposed sulfur plant.  We have a handful of speakers who have a strong desire to make Portsmouth City Council aware of our apprehension and fear regarding this project.

This is our time to stand together as a Portsmouth Community and make our voices heard.  Actions speak louder than words, but many individuals together can speak in great volume.  Please urge all concerned parties to join us at this meeting on January 17.  If you want to speak, we encourage this. However, you can can make a big difference by simply attending the meeting.

Please, we urge all concerned persons to stand beside us at this meeting and let Portsmouth City Council know how we feel.

Once again, this meeting is January 17 at I.C. Norcom High School at 7pm.

For more information on a similar project attempted and shut down in Moorehead City, NC, visit the websitewww.cleancounty.org.

Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you feel shares any of our concerns regarding the proposed sulfur plant in Portsmouth.  A petition will follow this email once it has been created.

HOA Fee Payments

E-mail Print PDF

To make HOA fee payments, you can either make a one time payment online from your bank account, for the amount including the annual 10% discount if the fees are paid in full, or mail in a check for that amount.

The Community Group just learned that the new credit card option that is being offered online is not going to be the best way to pay the year in advance, as the convenience fees the credit card company is charging are broken down into groups so, for every $40.00 it has a convenience fee of $2.50.  If you pay by credit card, you are going to use up your 10% discount in convenience fees.  In order to avoid this pay by your checking account.
